RodDoors

The checklist

Whether you or a trim shop builds your interior, there are many steps to take to ensure a good job. The following guide is to help you through the process and help make sure you don't end up with unexpected surprises($)!

HERE'S OUR CHECKLIST TO HELP YOU MAKE SURE YOU'RE READY FOR UPHOLSTERY:

Headliner support bows installed if you're missing the factory bows or the top has been chopped; all original wood wall supports are in place.

1. Floor pan and firewall finished and sealed. This is especially important on glass-bodied cars.

2. If you're using door panels other than RodDoors, or RodDoors without integrated arm rests, be sure you have purchased arm rests and fitted them.

3. Front (and rear) seat(s), if already purchased, centered and bolted to body for safety.

4. Seatbelts/harneses purchased and installed.

5. Want an overhead console? Make sure it is purchased or fabricated and test fitted. Wiring should be in place and all functions tested and working.

6. Wiring complete — panel pruchased and installed, wires run to areas needed for courtesy lights, third brake lights, power seats and door locks, door contacts, power antenna and power windows. Extra wire length left for shrinkage in final assembly?

7. AC/heating units installed and working. Defroster ducts mounted and finished, including vents.

8. Wiper motors installed, wired and working.

9. Power windows and door lock purchased, installed, wired and working.

10. All glass and weather strips installed.

11. Radio/CD-tape units test fitted and working. If possible, they should be mounted.

12. Gas tank and fillneck sealed to prevent leakage in the shop.

THERE EASILY CAN BE MORE. MAKE YOUR LIST AND CHECK IT (TWICE)! NOT OVERLOOKING SOMETHING WILL SAVE YOU MONEY, TIME AND GRIEF!

REMEMBER, FIRST-THINGS-FIRST.
